CAM Guidelines for a Site Visit/Video Application

As part of the Canadian Association of Movers (CAM) membership process, a site visit may be required. A CAM Director or designate will visit your operation to better understand your business and ensure it meets CAM standards. Site visits are arranged after your application is complete, all required documents have been submitted, and local and online reference checks have been completed.

Video Application

If a physical site visit is not possible, you may provide a video chat or submit video recordings of your operation. Videos can be a single recording or a series of short clips. The goal is to give CAM a clear sense of your business; professional-quality videos are not required, and a phone recording is sufficient. Please identify each area as you film and feel free to add commentary.

Areas and items to capture in your video(s):

  • Street view of the building showing the address, surrounding buildings, and the yard where moving trucks are parked

  • Company name/signage on the building or lawn

  • Moving trucks and main moving crew

  • Reception and operational areas

  • Driver’s room or kitchen, if applicable

  • Storage area (if applicable), including access points, a sample storage lot, warehouse interior, and any doors or overhead doors

  • Moving pads and packing materials in the warehouse

Documents to submit with your video application:

  • Sample estimate

  • Sample Bill of Lading

  • Any additional recordings or information relevant to your application
